Some Recent Portraits

I have been so busy with everything other than photography lately, so the best I can do in terms of an update is my recent portraits of Jasmine, Oscar and the wonderful Matilda :)

I do have other photos to post of summer range for Tikiboo, however I can only post those photos when the clothes become available to the general public.....soonish I hope :)

My HUGE watermark......

So you will notice, from now on, my "watermark" (for those who don't know what this is, it's the BIG "Megan Jones Photography" marked on each photo for protection) will be much larger than before.....which is quite unfortunate, because, yes I know it intrudes on the photo itself, but photo protection is very important to me. People don't understand the work that goes into taking just ONE photo! The post production in particular. I have recently had a photo taken/used/"stolen" by someone I don't even know (without being asked) and they blatantly tried to crop the photo as to disguise my watermark. That's just NOT ON! So from now on, in an attempt to better protect my photos, my watermark will be bigger!!!! Much bigger !! Sorry :(

while I try and upgrade my blog site....it's been a while since I've taken too many photos...we had a little incident with my camera (not mentioning any details or names, but Geoff dropped it hehehe), so the photos I took "post-drop" were not exciting me much and I put my camera away for a little while...Miraculously, since turning the camera back on again, whatever problem there was seems to have resolved itself....so it's back on the bus...and now with the help of the gorgeous and talented Lee, I can now have bigger photos! So please bear with me while I try and find the time to re-arrange, re-size and re-decorate my blog!

Sunday lunch with friends.....

Last Sunday we spent with our friends having lunch at their house. It was a perfect day. The kids played beautifully and us adults....well put it this way, lunch started at noon and I think we left just before 7pm!!! We also had many cuddles from Molly the dog. Thank you Jenkins family. We must return the favour soon.

William & Jacob (from Tamworth)

William & Jacob came all the way from Tamworth in January to visit us. They are Oscar & Jasmine's cousins. Much fun was had by all !

Farewell to my best mate......

Sadly, we got the news on Tuesday that our dog, Zak had bone cancer. Zak had been limping for a while but after 2 x-rays nothing was found....bloods then finally revealed that he had an aggressive form of bone cancer and because of this form of bone cancer, we were told that he had somewhere between 2 and 4 weeks to live :-( We were also told that he was in incredible pain. A tumour had formed in his shoulder (which explained the limp). Zak was 13yrs old, and suffered from arthritis in his back legs. But when we learned that he was in such terrible pain, we had to do what was best for him. Sadly, that meant giving him wings and sending him to be with the angels. Zak was an incredible dog. Almost human-like. We are devastated at having to give him up and watch as our other dog (Elly) grieves very deeply for him. He was put to sleep gently in mine & Geoff's arms on Wednesday afternoon. We hope you rest so very peacefully my darling boy. Gone, but never, never fogotten.

My first twin photo session....

Lil Miss "E" and Miss "A"

Talk about throwing myself in the deep end. Have never taken photos of babies before so I thought I'd start by having a twin photo shoot !!!! Ok, so it was a little more challenging than I first thought...only cos the babies are the boss on the day, NOT ME !!! We had one little one who co-operated beautifully and the other one was just over it all ! So after much wee, poo and crying, we managed to shoot some nice piccies...I even got to have a cuddle (or five).

Liliana.....

Just so you know.... I was the first one to take shots of our next Australian Top Model !!! This little girl (also featured below trying to feed her lollipop to her mummy's twin belly) is incredibly beautiful (and cheeky). I hope to shoot her soon with her new bubby twin sisters :-)

Tis the Season.....

My First Maternity Shoot...

Thanks to my friend Carla and her little girl Liliana, I managed to shoot some great photos. Carla is due to have twin girls in about 3wks time and she had such a beautiful belly!!! Liliana was such a doll, trying to feed her lollipop to the twins. We had a lot of fun....It was really a great morning.

More Pettiskirt Shots.....why not I say!

Need I say more!! Okay, okay, some overkill with the pettiskirt shots and possibly overkill with shots of my own daughter....anyone wanna volunteer their child :-) These were just taken around home last Sunday...nothing better to do than dress little girls in fluffy skirts! Be warned though..this is only one of FIVE pettiskirts I have.........watch this space!

The Amazing Ayrisa

I am lucky enough to say that this little angel is my niece. Ayrisa turned 2 years old in August but was too sick to celebrate her birthday with family & friends...so last Sunday she came to visit us here at our new home and we had a little celebration - hence the pink cupcakes! We bought her this fairy outfit which was a hit! I hope you have been able to at least wash it Jill! A very photogenic little girl this one! Will stealth her at future family gatherings!!! Thanks again for a lovely afternoon (evening!!).

the new Mr & Mrs Wallin....

Ahhh, weddings.....don't you just love them....This one was soo special...soo romantic...Haven't seen two people quite so in love for a long time. Very privileged to share in Ashley and Jodie's special day....oh and couldn't resist throwing in a few photos of the Magical Matilda...you may remember her from the beginning of my blog...in the pettiskirt!! She was the flower girl on the day and did a smashing job! The wedding and reception were at Sirromet Wines at Mt Cotton...what a beautiful location...Wonderful day.

TikiBoo Photo Shoot

Ok, it's been a while since I've posted on here :-( Been too busy taking photos LOL. So these photos above were part of a photo shoot for a kids clothing line called TikiBoo. On this day there were 7 beautiful children (my two included hehehe), loads of beautiful kids clothes, ranging from babies to big big kids and one very talented lady by the name of Kathryn who runs TikiBoo. Oh, wow, her clothes are just gorgeous...so colourful and fun. Kathryn I still have my eye on that "Spring in Beijing" skirt ;-) Now if I could only figure out how to link you to her blog, we'd all be happy :-) Oh and credit must go to these 3 gorgeous kiddies above...the gorgeous Miss Sophie, the handsome Mr Jasper and of course, my man, Oscar (in green??? that's gotta be a first).

This was shot my with my new lens *drool* but also, this time I attempted my first shoot in RAW. Now for those who know about RAW, you will know what a big step this is! For those who don't understand what RAW is.....well it's camera speak for "Megan is just soooo clever" ;-)

I have been waiting weeks for my new ones to come and finally today...they did....within minutes, of course, I had Jasmine dressed and outside for a photo session....the colours are just magic......Very Happy!

Ok, so here's one of the reasons why I love photography so much. This is my little girl, Jasmine. You'll be seeing a lot of her and her twin brother, Oscar.

Oh my goodness, I can't believe I'm blogging. Thank you Amanda, you're a gem xx So, why blog...I'm not totally sure yet, but it seems like a great place to easily share my photos. My passion/obsession with photography is increasing and my photos are no good to me just sitting on my external hard- drive....so bear with me while I learn about blogging and hopefully soon enough I'll have it up & running enough for everyone to understand.
